"Many thanks for your help with the Ceilidh last Saturday. It was marvellous, and Josephine and I are very grateful to Swain's Gold for such a wonderful day."

"What a fabulous evening. Our guests (who came from both the northern and southern hemispheres) have said it was one of the best wedding receptions they have ever been to. Swains Gold’s music and dance routines literally had everyone on the dance floor, young and old alike, novice or professional dancer and even those with two left feet or none at all. As one guest said ‘my feet were still tapping at breakfast the next morning’. Thank you Swain’s Gold for helping us to round off the perfect wedding day (despite the weather!). My husband and I are literally finding excuses to book you again! We would definitely recommend you to anyone looking for a fun filled celebration with a difference."

"Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed your playing yesterday evening for our Barn Dance at the Moorland Links Hotel in Yelverton. You managed to get our 80 guests (ranging in age from 35 to 85) up on their feet and dancing for most of your two hour slot. The music was varied, beautifully played and well modulated by Dave, your sound engineer. Caroline was a super caller and had all us rank amateurs dancing the most complicated (for us) dances. The evening was tremendous fun and the performance of Swain's Gold made it exceptional. From their elevated position on the stage the band members must have had a good laugh at our antics on the dance floor!
"If anyone out there wants a truly professional band for ceilidhs, barn dances or just to listen to they would find it hard to find a better group than Swain's Gold - or a nicer bunch of people. Booking and arrangements were simple and the group was great value for money. Very many thanks for a superb evening's entertainment. I would be very happy to give a verbal recommendation to anyone who is thinking of booking the band".

"I hired Swains Gold for a ceilidh in January 2010. The band were very friendly, flexible and arrived well in advance to set up. They played a 3 hour set for a very reasonable price and were really fantastic. The dance floor was packed all night and the caller made sure everyone had the hang of things so those who had not been to a ceilidh before could enjoy it just as much. I have been to many where this has not been the case and the dance floor has turned into carnage! I have had people coming up to me since all commenting on how good the band were and I would definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone else."

"A big thank you to the band - you were absolutely brilliant throughout the meal and then into the evening. The music just seemed to fit perfectly with the setting and feel of the day."

"Thank you for playing at the Black Bess New Year Ceilidh. A great fun time was had by all. Music and dancing for beginners and 'experts'. Looking forward to more fun this year."

"I've seen the band on a couple of occasions, and I would like to say how impressed I was. The mix of instruments creates a unique sound that is different and refreshing. The dances are suitable for new and experienced dancers alike, and with the caller giving clear precise instructions it all makes for an enjoyable ceilidh. Anyone planning a celebratory ceilidh or one just for fun can do no better than book Swain's Gold."

"I wanted to say a big thank you to the band for performing at our Barn Dance on August 15th at Lower Goodmansleigh, Launceston. We had a terrific evening and hope it was a success for yourselves as well. We were so pleased with your performance and would not hesitate in recommending you to anyone. Because of its success, we are hoping the Lower Goodmansleigh Barn Dance will be an annual event and I will of course keep your contact details should we plan another event next August. Thanks again."
