How to Start Legends
At any time, there are up to a dozen or more games of Legends running. And, if you wish to get a feel for the game, it is often possible to start playing in any of them. However, we generally recommend that you either start in the most recent game, or, if a new game is about to begin, then start in that.
A list of current games, and whether or not they are accepting start-ups, can be found by Clicking Here
. Alternatively, if you would like advice about which game would be best suited for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch: email@example.com
So, to start, you need to do the following:
If you do wish to start playing Legends, you will need to obtain a copy of the following:
- set-up sheets
- Harlequin house rules
- Legends house rules (including banned tactics list)
- New Player Guides
- and, perhaps most importantly, the Legends Position Editor (LPE).
To download these free online, Click Here
. To receive hard copies of the module and map in the post, click here
, and remember to include both your address and the game whose rulebook you wish to receive in the email. Bear in mind, however, that we will not be able to send out these until we have received payment. We can also send a hard copy of the rules, but these have to be printed on an individual basis and are expensive to post, so please email us for a costing. Generally this is fairly expensive though, so we advise players where possible to print out their own .
Pay for your start-up. If you have downloaded the materials online, this costs £5. If you wish to be sent a hard copy of the module and map, this costs £10. You can find out how to pay by Clicking Here
Send us your Start-up Form:
You then need to fill in the start-up form and return it to us, either by post or by email.
Join the Mailing Lists:
We advise you to join the two Legends email mailing lists, so that you can keep up to date with the latest news, and get in contact with other Legends players. You can join both lists from our community page, found by Clicking Here

How to Start Exile
Exile is an on-going game, which means you do not have to wait for a new game to begin in order to start.
However, it is no longer run by Harlequin and due to its popularity, there is often a waiting list,
so before going any further, you may wish to contact the Exile referee to find out how long a wait
you are likely to have before you can start. To do so, check out the Exile page

Secure Online Credit Card Payment
Worldpay - Secure credit card facility
Many players have worries about the safety of credit card transactions that are made online. We use a system developed by Worldpay, the second largest internet payment-system provider, in conjunction with Natwest bank. Here are two excerpts from the Worldpay questions and answers page of their website www.worldpay.com.
"How secure is WorldPay?
"WorldPay uses state of the art security tools and techniques, both proprietary and unique, to ensure that you and your shopper are protected against what is nowadays a virtually non-existent risk. Our systems also have inbuilt system redundancy and fault tolerance, to provide you with a virtually uninterrupted service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our systems have evolved over many years and throughout our history we have continuously sought and gained bank approval for our systems.
"If the shopper keys in their card details at home or in the office, surely they are not encrypted until after they arrive at the WorldPay system?
"Using industry standard SSL, Thawte and WorldPay unique encryption systems, this is not actually the case. When the shopper fills in the payment form and clicks the submit button, their details are not sent straight away. What actually happens is that a secure link is set up between the shopper's browser and WorldPay and an encryption code is requested and received, which then wraps the order and transaction details before leaving the shoppers premises."
